An area almost lost to time, walk through what was once Dundee’s Chapelshade as we explore some of the darkness that lurked in a place whose name is all but forgotten. Deception, death, crime & punishment are laid bare with tales of locals who chose the wrong path. This is another brand-new walking tour for our 10th Anniversary year. Starts at Howff Cemetery. Tour takes approx 1 hr.

A brand new DD Tours walking tour for 2026!

The name Chapelshade might have disappeared from modern Dundee maps, but its stories certainly haven’t.

Starting inside the ancient Howff cemetery, we’ll head into the old Chapelshade area around Bell Street and Ward Road, uncovering murder, mayhem and a cast of Dundee characters whose tales we’ve never told on tour before.

Brand new tales. New characters. Another dark corner of Dundee to discover.

Recommended age: 10+  (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)

Tour start: Howff Cemetery

Tour end: Ward Road

Tour length: Approx 1 hr

Accessibility: There is a set of stairs at one part of the tour, but an alternative route can be provided for wheelchair users. There are some slight hills, but for any accessibility concerns please get in touch.
